orthodontist

The term orthodontist comes from the Greek words "ortho" (straight) and "odon" (teeth). An orthodontist works in diagnosis, prevention and treatment of misalignment or irregularities in the bite (called malocclusions) caused by uneven or crooked teeth or disproportions in the jaws. An orthodontist is a dentist who has had specialist training.
