Everybody actually has hemorrhoids or piles. This is the name for a part of the rectum that is like a cushioned area well-supplied with blood. For a variety of reasons this can become enlarged, and this can lead to pain and bleeding. The expression “having piles” refers to the symptoms like bleeding, itching, wetness, pain, or when the hemorrhoid protrudes out of the anus.
